Kana

Kana

Advisor

Kana, a Japanese expatriate, has been residing in Ho Chi Minh City since 2016, where she is raising three children with her husband. Prior to her move, she earned a Juris Doctor degree and worked as a lawyer in Japan, handling both civil and criminal cases. Her legal background includes experience in legal education for children and dealing with delinquency cases involving minors in complex circumstances.

Kana’s professional journey took a significant turn in 2023. She encountered the field of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) and gradually deepened her knowledge of ABA by collaborating with LS and continuously implementing ABA approaches. Inspired by the depth of ABA and the expertise of the staff, she pursued and obtained the Applied Behavior Analysis Technician (ABAT) certification and officially joined the Learning Strategies team in April 2024. Currently, Kana is furthering her education by working towards a Qualified Autism Service Practitioner-Supervisor (QASP-S) certification, which will enhance her ability to provide supervision and guidance in autism support services. What sets Kana apart is her unique blend of legal expertise and ABA training, allowing her to approach challenges with a comprehensive understanding of both legal and behavioral aspects.

Kana is driven by a passion to expand access to ABA, a scientifically validated treatment for individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and other developmental disabilities. Despite its proven effectiveness, ABA remains underutilized in Japan and many other countries. Kana’s dream is to ensure more children benefit from this method by taking concrete steps to support their growth directly. Her commitment to this field is rooted in her belief that every child deserves access to effective support, and she finds fulfillment in contributing to their development.
